Our body is made up of 70%water. Water itself do jot have any macro-nutrient. But it is necessary for survival. You can survive for 10 days without food but cannot survive without water. Water contain zinc,iron , copper and other micro-nutrients. Water helps your body to supply the nutrients to particular site in body. It helps in metabolism. There is not a single process that can be done in the absence of water. Water is essential for life but our body cannot take enough water from food. That is why we should take plenty of water.
All of us concern about healthy food and exercise but we ignore the essential part of our health which is water. Water make up high content of your body. All process of your body are controlled by water. Basically water is a compound made of to hydrogen and one oxygen molecules. It seems that it have not nutrient in it al all. But it contains micro-nutrients such as sodium. Although, it have no macro-nutrient, but it supply nutrients to all your body, ensuring the proper digestion of food, production of urine and blood circulation. Drinking enough water help you protect from pathogen attack.
Why it is important to stay Hydrated:

- 2. Your food digestion needs water
- 3. Respiration system is apparently need no water because it is a system of air. But think of the contraction and relaxation process of muscles in lungs , nose, trachea. All these need ATP. ATP comes from break down of food which requires moisture.
- 4. The oxygen provided to tissues and cells in body may come from water.
- 5. Your reproductive system; Egg formation, sperm floating an nourishment, blastula, gastrula, morula stages of egg during pregnancy need water.
- 6. Your circulatory system contains blood. Think! If your blood become thick and cannot move in arteries, veins, and capillaries. You blood become clotted. The clotted blood results in cancer, heart attack, even death. You blood should be thin enough that it can circulate easily throughout body.
- 7. You immune system is a slo a fluid based system. It contains lymphocytes which are the white blood cells. This is also a fluid and cells in lymph move from time to time to engulf the pathogen and protect you from disease.
- 8. You kidney; if does not have enough water to make urine. Your urine will turn dark, nitrogenous waste will collect inside your body and your skin color pale. This results in kidney and gall bladder stone.
- 9. Your nervous system also have cranial fluid. The nerves move in form of pulse or waves. This is due to the release and intake of ca, Na and potassium ions inside and outside of cells. All these processes need water.
- 10. Large story in one sentence! Every part of your body has water and requires water in balance. Our body is made of 70% water. The newborn baby turning into a baby is just a clot of blood which is a liquid i.e. water.
- 11. Can you imagine that a baby born from a cloth of red blood cell in water? So, how can we den the importance of water.
De-hydration:
When your body lack enough water it results in de-hydration.

- · Lack of water in body results in Fatigue.
- · In pregnant women water is necessary for the growth of baby.
- · In Athletes liquid is necessary to maintain metabolism and get energy.

What time can you drink water?
You can drink water any time you feel thirst. But quantity of water varies.
1. In the morning:
Start your morning with one glass full of fresh water. Your body needs to liquefy every time. Liquid is not restricted only to water, it can be any liquid such as green herbal tea, less sugar fruit juice. Drinking water in the morning increases your metabolism.
2. In the afternoon:
If you are a office employ or student you should keep a bottle of fresh water on your Desk as a reminder. If you are housewife you can use water-cooler at home. The fact is that you should drink water as much as you have thirst.
3. In the Evening:
As confine and alcohol are also liquid< But you should avoid them. They cause you sleeplessness and anxiety.
Amount of Water in different parts of your Body:
Water requirement vary according to:
1. Climate:
During hot weather the metabolism of body increases. Your body loss sweat to cool your body. So your body demands more water. In the winter you don’t need much water but for normal kidney function you have to drink water.
2. Temperature:
The physical activity in athletes demands more water. More physical activity, your hard job increase the body temperature.
3. Age:
The adult’s capacity to drink and store water is more than children and old people.
4. Athletes and Hydration:
If you are an athlete you have to drink excess water. You can take unsweetened fruit juices and fruits like watermelon.
5. Pregnant women:
You have to drink more water then your previous outline. But do not drink excess water at one. Drink plenty of water, but in small sections.
6. Seniors and hydration:
If you have grandparent you should keep them hydrated by setting alarm. The thirst response in old people diminished with age.

Briefly talking Water is life and no life without water. You cannot do well if you ignore the importance of water. You are taking healthy food, exercise but you are not concern about your water demand, your game is over. You cannot think of weight loss and fitness without giving importance to water.
